“Protection of Personal Data of All Natural Persons of Nigerian Descent”
All natural persons of Nigerian descent whether residing in Nigeria or outside Nigeria have the right to privacy of identifiable individual’s personal data from any data administrator/controller.
“Data” means characters, symbols and binary on which operations are performed by a computer. Which may be stored or transmitted in the form of electronic signals is stored in any format or any device.
Hence, every Nigeria in entitle to the protection and privacy of any personal data of which he/she can be identified. Personal data includes; a name and surname, home address, personal email address, identification card number, location data, internet protocol (IP) address, a cookie identification, medical data.
The next Article shall define “Data Subject, Data Administrator, Data Controller, Data Processor and Personal data”.
